FOOD INC. A REALITY SHOW WORTH WATCHING

Food industry world over draws criticism because of many supposedly "wrong doings" that hurt the consumers economically and health-wise. But such sweeping statements put honest players with sensitivity to the safety of the consumers also in the same basket. The 90 minute docu film on food, with focus on some of the on- going practices by the food industry is an extraordinary epilogue that is not obsessively critical but shot with good intentions in highlighting what is not desirable with lot of suggestions for improvement

"This video was not made to appeal unfairly to the emotions. It was made to present compelling information about an important series of food-related issues. Watching this video reminded me of something that was quite disturbing. The mainstream media and our own government do not starkly peel back the happy veneer of the food production industry. Thus, Food, Inc. also serves as a meta-indictment of those failed institutions of government and the media".

Probably many of the things contained in the docu film are revelations to the consumers but these must have been known to the regulatory authorities for a long time and the tragedy is that very little was being done to address the problems. The good thing is that the most powerful country in this planet, the US, is now, at least "talking' about reforms that will reassure its citizens about safety of the foods they consume every day!
